Administrative Assistant

The Town of Bristol has an opening for a part-time Administrative Assistant.  This position will give support to and covers in the absence of the Clerk-Treasurer in fulfilling the duties and responsibilities for the town.  It is a 1,200 hour per year position, two days (15 hrs) a week (Mon-Thurs.), semi-flexible with the requirement of 32 hrs/wk during budget/tax collection and elections.  Key responsibilities include but not limited to, assistance with the following:  answering phones and serving as a primary point of contact for residents and other parties, elections, property tax collection, building permit processing, issuing dog licenses & road weight permits, record keeping, mailings, ordering & receiving office supplies, coordinating town hall rental, receipting of monies, petty cash balancing, reconcile recycling center funds.  The position requires for the candidate to have a friendly and professional attitude, the ability to multi-task, organizational skills and detail orientated.  Starting wage is $18 - $20.

Desired Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent degree.  Previous experience in administrative assistance, basic accounting, cash handling, data entry and word processing needed.  Experience and understanding of Word, Excel and Outlook software’s is essential.  Familiarity with QuickBooks and website maintenance is desired. Able to be bonded.
